竞：争。疏：疏忽。争着模仿现代的，忽视借鉴古代的。
❍ 南朝梁·刘勰《文心雕龙·通变》：“从质及讹，弥近弥澹。何则？竞今疏古，风味气衰也。”
❍ 朱自清《正变》：“明白了通变的道理，便不至于一味的隆古贱今，也不至于一味的竞今疏古，便能公平的看历代，各各还给它一付本来面目。”
